UFSLeague: NCAA March Madness Final 4 – 08

The NCAA March Madness is almost over. Division-I Mens and Womens are the last to be completed. For the Men http://ncaa.com/basketball-mens/default.aspx?id=147034 it will be North Carolina vs. Kansas and Menphis against UCLA. For the Women http://www.ncaa.com/basketball-womens/default.aspx?id=147238 UConn will face Stanford while LSU will face Tennessee.

In the Division-II Mens it was Winona St. defeating Augusta St. 87-76. It was their second championship in the last three years.

In the Division-III Mens action, Washington St. Louis won over Amherst by a score of 90-68. A great victory for them. For the women it was Howard Payne 68-54 over Messiah.

Midwest: The Kansas Jayhawks are going to the Final Four after they ended Davidson's NCAA tournament run by the score of 59-57. (NCAA March Madness 2008 highlights)

UFSLeague: NCAA March Madness

It is college basketball season with all of the NCAA March Madness well underway. Most of the fans only get involved when the division one Men's and Women's matches begin. However there is also an NCAA Division-II and an NCAA Division-III bracket. Both of which are well underway.

Division-III is well into the Elite Eight. NCAA Men's D-III has Hope vs. Wheaton III & Washington-St. Louis vs. Millsaps on one side while Amherst vs. Brandeis & Ursinus vs. Coast Guard on the other. The Women's D-III next games are Messiah vs. Tufts & Kean vs. Oglethorpe. The other four teams are Howard Payne vs. Hope & Wis. Whitewater vs. DePauw.

The NCAA Men's D-II and the Women's D-II are into there first and second rounds.

UFSLeague: NFL – Super Bowl:XLII

It will be the New England Patriots vs. the New York Giants. This is not the match up everyone was looking for but those are the teams playing for the Super Bowl XLII.

I am still not sure who I am going to cheer for but let us just say if the New England Patriots do not win this game, what a disappointing season it will be for them. They are one loss away from a perfect season. The pressure is on!

The New York Giants have nothing to prove. They could come in all relaxed and ready to play in the big game. If they keep the pressure off themselves, they could secure a victory.

It really doesn't matter for me. It would be great to see the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl XLII but as I spoke before, the New York Giants have been playing strong football all playoffs.

UFSLeague: NFL – Conference Championship

It was Seattle coming out saying we are here, with a 14-0 point lead. But it was green bay with its youth, determination, pure grit, and veteran leadership that made a statement of 21-14 green bay. BTW, we are not even 5 minutes into the second quarter and 35 points are up on the board for both teams. Any way, Green Bay Packers gave the Seattle Seahawks a 42-20 thumping.

Well the Indianapolis Colts are out. What happened? They took the San Diego Chargers to easy and the Chargers came to play, and took the game 28-24.

I told you so here too. New York Giants over the Dallas Cowboys 21-17. The Giants are on the move and I for one am not surprised.

I should say that New England Patriots looked very strong and I may have underestimated them. The rest did them good. I feel almost bad for the Chargers. However, could we have a San Diego Chargers and New York Giants match-up? Yes, to early to tell but remember the trade back almost four years ago? This would be a Super Bowl the press would love. So now I am down to a 1 in 4 with the Green Bay Packers

UFSLeague: NFL – Divisional Playoffs

Remember this? Do not be surprised if you see the Washington Redskins playing against the Green Bay Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars fighting with the Indianapolis Colts. We at UFSLeague stated this in a recent blog. Well, the Washington Redskins are shoveling snow while the Jacksonville Jaguars are in the weight room but these were my Cinderella teams.

But hold on there. This will be the New England Patriots biggest test. Remember what almost happened in Baltimore? All I am saying is do not be surprised if the Jags are still standing. Oh! Say G'Bye to the San Diego Chargers cause it is Indianapolis Colts all the way.

Now with the other four teams it is really a coin toss but I believe that it will be Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers who will be playing each other next week while the New York Giants and the Seattle Seahawks will be watching at home.

It's the 2008 NFL Wild Card games this weekend. It is going to be an exciting finish to the season for these great teams. Have you made your predictions? Here are the match ups. It will be the 11-5, Jacksonville Jaguars taking on the 10-6 Pittsburgh Steelers in game two with the 10-6 Seattle Seahawks and the

The Sunday second game is the 10-6 Tennessee Titans meeting the 10-5 San Diego Chargers but first will be the 10-6 New York Giants and the 9-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers doing battle.

Both the AFC's 16-0 New England Patriots and the 13-3 Indianapolis Colts plus the NFC's 13-3 Dallas Cowboys and the 13-3 Green Bay Packers all have the bye and congrats to them.

BTW, if you were playing UFSLeague challenge games, you would have been able to lay out your selection picks for the entire season in the Regular Season Order of Finish Game and win. So here are my picks Exact Playoff Order of Finish Game. I am feeling mixed because three of my favorite teams are here in the playoffs but I do not think any are playing real strong. In fact I do not think the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Dallas Cowboys, or even the New England Patriots are Super Bowl bound. I believe it will be Jacksonville Jaguars will play the Indianapolis Colts and the Washington Redskins to take on the Green Bay Packers.

Do not be surprised if you see the Washington Redskins playing against the Green Bay Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars fighting with the Indianapolis Colts.

It’s playoff time Major League Baseball style. We are going to be bringing you write-ups from some of the best writers around. Starting with:
The Angels and Red Sox are ready to get it on later today in the first round of the playoffs. Both teams have solid pitching staffs but they go around offense in very different ways. The Red Sox are a slugging team while the Angels like playing small ball so it will be fascinating to watch these two styles clash. These two teams got to the playoffs in different ways. The Cubs were the best of a poor division while the Diamondbacks logged the best record in the National League due to their fine pitching staff. The real Mariano Rivera has returned after the All Star Break for the Yankees. In 29 games since the break, Rivera is 1-1 with 17 saves, a 2.05 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. Rivera has worked 30.2 innings in the 2nd half of the season and he has allowed 27 hits, walked 5 batters and whiffed 36. Rivera’s overall numbers look pretty good now. In 62 games this season, Rivera is 3-4 with 29 saves, a 2.98 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. In 66.1 innings, he has allowed 63 hits, walked 10 batters and whiffed 69. The Yankees have won 8 of their last 10 games which has them 5 games ahead of the Tigers in the Wild Card. But the Yankees who are now 87-64 on the season are only 2.5 games behind the Red Sox in the American League East. http://www.yankeeslocker.com/

The 9th inning might usually make Indians’ fans nervous but they don’t have that problem in the 7th and 8th innings. Rookie lefty Rafael Perez works a lot in the 7th inning and he has been nasty this season. Perez has pitched in 40 games this season and he is 1-1 with 1 save, a 1.41 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP. He has worked 57.1 innings this season and he has only allowed 35 hits, walked 14 batters and whiffed 59. Rafael Betancourt is having the best season of his major league career by far in 2007. Betancourt has worked in 62 games this season and he is 5-1 with 1 save, a 1.48 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP. He has worked 73 innings this season and he has only allowed 47 hits, walked 8 batters and whiffed 69. The Indians are closing in on the Central Division Title as they now lead the Tigers by 6.5 games with a 89-62 record. http://www.indianslocker.com/
